Gashes Creek Baptist Church

WMU (Womens Missionary Union)

The WMU of Gashes Creek Baptist Church meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7 pm, following Family Night, which is observed with a meal. Each person brings a covered dish and a meal is enjoyed prior to our mission activities. We promote the mission activities that follow. Our church year begins in September of each year. Each month there is a different mission focus.

Sept.-- North Carolina Mission Offering

Assist with making hygiene kits, salvation bracelets or bears for NC Mountian State Fair

Oct.-- Fight on World Hunger-Poor Man's Meal

Prepare lunch one Monday for Members of the Baptist Student Union at UNCA.

Nov.-- Assist with World Day of Prayer--Trinity of Fairview and Gashes Creek

Prepare a program and pray for women in certain areas that are in need of prayer and assistrance. Following this we share a covered lunch.

**Prepare shoeboxes for Samaratians Purse, Operation Christmas Child**

Dec.--Prepare and deliver Christmas Baskets for our Shut-Ins

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

Feb.--Baptist Retirement Home

Assisting residents who are unable to pay for care.

April.--Food Drive for the Baptist Childern's Home.

Mothers Day Offering for NC Baptist Hospital

We also buy Gideon Bibles for the Gideons to place where needed.

We prepare a meal for the family at the death of our church member.
